Water/Sewer Utility Information

 

Water and sewer services are provided by the Town of Waterville.  New customers must sign up for utilities in person at the Town Hall and pay a $5.00 Service Initiation Fee (SIF).

 

Monthly Water Rates:

Water rates are based on the meter size and water usage as follows:

The minimum monthly charge is for up to 500 cubic feet of water usage.  Additional water usage is billed at $0.67 per 100 cubic feet up to 3,000 cu/ft.  Usage from 3,001 - 8,000 cu/ft is billed at $1.33 and water usage over 8,001 cu/ft is billed at $2.68.

 

Note:  Meters are not read in the winter months (November thru March).  During those months the minimum is charged and water usage excess is billed on the April billing cycle.  

 

Meters are read on or about the 20th of the month and bills are mailed out on the last day of the month.  Monthly bills run from the 20th to the 20th of each month.

 

Utility bills are due by the 20th of each month.

 

Monthly Sewer Rates:

Sewer is billed at a flat rate of $27.00 per month.

 

Late Fees:

Bills not received at the Town Hall by the 20th of each month (or next business day if the 20th falls on a weekend or holiday) are accessed a $5.00 late fee.

 

Door Hanger Fees:

Bills not received at the Town Hall by the last day of the month receive a door hanger on the first day of the month notifying customer of utility shut-off in 2 business days.  The door hanger fee is $25.00.

 

Water Reconnect Fees:

If water is shut off, customer must pay the full account balance and all late and door hangar fees plus a $25.00 water reconnect charge.

 

New Utility Tap Fees (owner pays from main line):

Water Tap:                                $1,125.00

Water System Development Fee $3,000.00

Sewer Tap:                                $1,500.00 (and $250 for each additional water closet)

Sewer System Development Fee $2,750.00

 

Note:  The system development fees are in addition to the water tap fees
